THE HURRICANE is a country, blues, and gospel musical set in South Texas after a hurricane. A woman, unwilling to leave her home, sits on her roof, surrounded by a flood when a young girl floats by on an innertube forcing the stubborn woman to take a fantastical adventure of redemption and self-awareness.

Allie is a newly out teen who is keeping her girlfriend a secret from her Chinese American family. During her family's celebration of the Hungry Ghost Festival, Allie meets the ghost of a long lost relative named Maxine, who was queer when she was alive several decades ago. Though they come from different times, they find that they share many feelings about struggling to belong, especially within their own family's legacy.

RENOVATION is a site-specific live concert experience that features narrative music performed by chamber strings and movement artists.
Funded in part by the City of Culver City and its Cultural Affairs Commission, with support from Sony Pictures Entertainment and the Culver City Arts Foundation, BMI, Spitfire Audio, The Alliance for Women Film Composers, The Auld Fella and Creative Visions.
This coming September, the newly renovated Culver Steps will host a unique immersive concert experience. The performance, called "RENOVATION," will feature the Intrinsic Strings chamber string ensemble and contemporary movement artists Friidom and Epiic movement performing original works by local contemporary film and media composers; Emer Kinsella, Allyson Newman, Carla Patullo, Justin Bell and Yuichiro Oku.
